KINOKABAN A Scene from a Certain Day

When Kamei first held this piece of wood, a strange image suddenly came to mind. To ensure he wouldn’t forget it, Kamei sketched a rough design directly onto the wood and carved the piece as his heart dictated.

The intricate carvings create shifting shadows depending on the angle of the light, subtly altering the piece’s impression and adding to its charm. The base features a colorful gradient. Small fasteners are used, and the delicate carved patterns and mother-of-pearl inlay are finished with lacquer, creating a design that blends seamlessly into the body of the piece.

The subtle color variations are so subtle that you might wonder if they’re simply a result of the lighting—they’re barely noticeable unless you look closely. This piece is filled with Kamei’s playful spirit.

Please enjoy it as a piece of interior decor.

Precautions for use

No special care is required for wooden bags. Wooden products develop a distinctive flavor as they are used, and we hope you will enjoy the changes that occur as you use them.

To ensure that you can use our products without worrying about rain stains, dirt, or color transfer to your clothes, we have applied a sufficient layer of urushi lacquer or coating agent. Please wipe it dry with a soft cloth when it gets wet from use on a rainy day. If it gets dirty, wipe with water. If stains cannot be removed, a diluted neutral detergent can be used.

Although the durability of the product has been carefully considered, it may be damaged by falling, impact, or rubbing due to its characteristics as a wooden product. Please handle with care. We recommend storing the product in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Please avoid storing the product under direct sunlight or in extremely high temperature and humidity for long periods of time, as this may cause the product to deteriorate, develop mold, or fade in color.
