KINOKABAN Urushi Two-Tone

The traditional “wiping lacquer” technique brings out the beauty of the wood grain in the KINOKABAN. This rich, velvety luster can only be achieved with urushi lacquer.

The two-tone design, created using raw lacquer and black lacquer, has been loved across generations.

We often hear stories like this from customers about this classic KINOKABAN model.
・They’ve used it for formal occasions
・Their mother took it to a tea ceremony while wearing a kimono
・Their daughter paired it with a white shirt and jeans for a day out
・On days when it’s not in use, it serves as a decorative accent in the family living room

The pattern on the bottom features a playful design that’s the complete opposite of traditional styles.

Precautions for use

No special care is required for wooden bags. Wooden products develop a distinctive flavor as they are used, and we hope you will enjoy the changes that occur as you use them.

To ensure that you can use our products without worrying about rain stains, dirt, or color transfer to your clothes, we have applied a sufficient layer of urushi lacquer or coating agent. Please wipe it dry with a soft cloth when it gets wet from use on a rainy day. If it gets dirty, wipe with water. If stains cannot be removed, a diluted neutral detergent can be used.

Although the durability of the product has been carefully considered, it may be damaged by falling, impact, or rubbing due to its characteristics as a wooden product. Please handle with care. We recommend storing the product in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Please avoid storing the product under direct sunlight or in extremely high temperature and humidity for long periods of time, as this may cause the product to deteriorate, develop mold, or fade in color.
