KINOKABAN Sunlit Spot

A forest bathed in dappled sunlight. A place filled with warm air.

Linden wood is known for its straightforward grain and lack of distinctive features, but on rare occasions, a tree with a dazzling figure can be found.

The result of the tree’s own efforts to adapt to its growing environment and natural phenomena is etched into the wood grain.

Depending on the orientation of the log when it is sawn into planks, this beautiful grain may remain hidden and never reveal itself. That’s why, when such a grain pattern emerges during sawing, it’s so moving that it feels as if we can hear the tree speaking.

This piece is also crafted from one of these rare, precious woods.

Please take a moment to admire the linden wood as it sparkles in natural light.

For the closure, Kamei paired it with maple wood that shimmers like cat’s eye stone.

Designed as a piece where the material speaks for itself, it features a simple, box-shaped form.

We believe the grain will grow even more beautiful with the passage of time.

Precautions for use

No special care is required for wooden bags. Wooden products develop a distinctive flavor as they are used, and we hope you will enjoy the changes that occur as you use them.

To ensure that you can use our products without worrying about rain stains, dirt, or color transfer to your clothes, we have applied a sufficient layer of urushi lacquer or coating agent. Please wipe it dry with a soft cloth when it gets wet from use on a rainy day. If it gets dirty, wipe with water. If stains cannot be removed, a diluted neutral detergent can be used.

Although the durability of the product has been carefully considered, it may be damaged by falling, impact, or rubbing due to its characteristics as a wooden product. Please handle with care. We recommend storing the product in a well-ventilated place out of direct sunlight. Please avoid storing the product under direct sunlight or in extremely high temperature and humidity for long periods of time, as this may cause the product to deteriorate, develop mold, or fade in color.
